The Whitebird Lifestyle Northwest Jungle Broken Beats DJ Comp Winner 2009!

With the dust settling from the first annual WB/NWJ Broken Beats DJ comp it is time to declare a champion. Deciding the winner was no easy task considering the amount of fantastic talent that made it into this contest. We tallied the ballots from each night along with online voting and the judges professional opinions and the winner is clear. Generic is your 2009 Broken Beats Champion.

DJ Generic arrived at the shows as an underdog with a good attitude and even managed to draw the short straw every time. Leaving him to play the very first lonely opener slots of the night to follow up with the midnight special. This did not deter him at all from throwing down some of the best multi genre sets with great tracks and a bit of turntablism to top it off. He showed everyone involved that he really knew what he was doing and did a proper job of moving the crowds.

The sets from each of the four nights were recorded, mastered and uploaded. We will keep them available on the site for a few months as they are still quite popular. You can check them out here:
